Our Approach
Hopscotch World Academy is a boutique international school for children aged 5 to 12 in the heart of Toronto. We blend the independence and depth of Montessori with the structured inquiry of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, for which we are a candidate school* — so children grow into confident, curious thinkers, prepared to continue their education anywhere in the world.

At Hopscotch, autonomy and guidance work together. Each child follows a personalized academic plan, and subjects are integrated to encourage systems thinking — students see learning as part of their own journey, not a set of separate tasks. Our community brings together local families and families from around the globe, enabling our students to grow up with a genuinely international identity. The curriculum reaches well beyond conventional Common Core standards: children study foreign languages, environmental entrepreneurship, and STEAM subjects within an inquiry-based framework, building global perspective and academic depth at the same time.

Our Enrichment Program offers a diverse range of activities that cater to every child’s interests. From mastering martial arts and engaging in strategic chess matches to expressing themselves through dance and art lessons, there’s something for everyone.
Academy of Arts & Sports
Each year, our students research a country’s position on a real global issue, then travel to represent it as delegates at the international Montessori Model UN conference — most recently in Rome. They draft resolutions, negotiate with peers from schools around the world, and address the assembly. It is diplomacy, research, and public speaking in action.
